A young dog is a great option if you want to avoid the early work involved with raising a puppy. Or if you prefer to get straight to enjoying activities that you’d otherwise have to wait for a puppy to mature to be able to participate in. A young dog may already be well into house training, socialization and obedience training. At this age the young dog’s temperament can be more accurately assessed, to determine if it’s suitable for a particular environment such as; a family dog, a dog for a single person household, or a guard dog.
